With tongue firmly wedged in cheek, Orlando City SC and Adidas unveiled the new special edition ‘Sea Cow’ prematch jersey at the end of last week, which the team wore ahead of their match against Nashville.

Prior to joining MLS Orlando City was mandated to update their club identity. So on the eve of April Fool’s Day, the club announced that the “SC” in their name would change from soccer club to Sea Cows. Fans were understandably a bit perturbed until they realized that it was just a prank – then Adidas jumped in and made a 1 of 1 jersey to commemorate the joke, and so began the legend that is the Orlando City Sea Cows. Now, eight years on, Adidas has created a special edition pre-match jersey that the team wore ahead of their match against Nashville.

The bright blue and green top features a new Sea Cow crest as well as the club's primary jersey partner, Orlando Health, emblazoned on the front.
